STEPHEN R. FOREHT was admitted to practice in New York and to practice before the U.S. District Court, Eastern and Southern Districts of New York in 1986; in New Jersey and before the U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey in 1987, and was admitted to practice in California in 1995. He specializes in Corporate and Commercial Law, including mergers, acquisitions, secured financing transactions, franchise filings and public and private placement offerings, Real Estate Law and Entertainment Law.
Mr. Foreht is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, the New York State Bar Association, and the American Bar Association, where he serves as a member on the Section on Corporation, Banking and Business Law and the Forum Committee on Entertainment and Sports Industries. Mr. Foreht also is a member of the New York County Lawyers Association where he also serves as a member of the Special Committee on Communications and Entertainment Law. His clients include publicly traded and privately held corporations and businesses, not-for-profit foundations and theatre companies, co-operative corporations, commercial and residential landlords and tenants, and individuals in the arts and entertainment community. Mr. Foreht is a founding member and director of Kids For Life Foundation (focusing on inner-city youth at risk), and a director of Blackberry Productions, a not-for-profit theatrical company. He also provides pro bono representation to not-for-profit foundations and, through Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, to members of the Arts communities.
Mr. Foreht received his law degree from New York Law School and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Arizona State University, where he majored in finance and economics and obtained an international business certificate focusing on French-language foreign countries.
